Faculty and staff gather for Convocation

Principal Kim Miller introduced the vision for the year, including the MCS WHY: "The MCS community endeavors to be a place where everyone can discover their full redemptive purpose and live out God's will for their lives."

Academic Dean of Bible Joshua Harris shared insight on the cardinal virtues (prudence, fortitude, temperance, justice) and the theological virtues (faith, hope, love) and the importance of how they work together. Kim Miller then shared this year's spiritual goals, instructional goals, and educational goals before Director of Educational Technology Jillian Matheny introduced all of MCS's almost 80 employees. Congratulations to teacher Mandy Wray who received the 10-Year Longevity Award.

Head of School Dr. Tim Houston gave an inspiring message about the school's theme and verse for the year: Honor - Hebrews 13:18 "We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way." The school will be focusing on how to honor God, Authority, Peers, Self (GAPS).

Convocation closed with a wonderful time of faculty and staff worshiping and praying together.

Employees have also been participating in Orientation and various trainings to prepare for the start of the school year. The faculty and staff have been praying for the students and are excited to welcome them for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 16th! (As a reminder, preschool through 1st grade will be starting on a staggered schedule.) See our Back to School page for more information.
