Host a Student
Thank you for your interest in Madison Christian School's International Homestay Program.
You are about to embark on a journey that will be life-changing experience by welcoming an international student into your home. If you become a host family, you will come to know and love your new son or daughter as your own. Your family will not only welcome an international student into your home, but you will welcome a new member into your family.
As you look through the FAQs section, discuss the homestay program with your family, and prayerfully consider whether or not to fill out the Host Family Application, please keep in mind the missional aspects of becoming a homestay family. In the Great Commission, Jesus tells us to "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone." (Mark 16:15). The calling to host a young adult from a different culture is something that should not be taken lightly or half-heartedly. It requires time, commitment, energy, resources, and a strong desire to avail yourself to the needs of a student who will be learning to assimilate to American culture and teaching styles.
By opening your hearts and home, you will impact the life of another for an entire school year (10 months to be exact) and possibly for the rest of eternity. Madison Christian School's mission has always been to "lead students toward God, scripturally educating the whole person spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially and physically to become strong Christian leaders." By bringing international students to our school and into your home, our MCS commUNITY is partnering to bring a global commUNITY to the campus grounds.
I would personally like to thank you and your family for considering opening your home to an international student. I am certain that if your family takes the next step, the 2019-2020 school year will prove to be both challenging and rewarding. It will be an academic year where your family will develop new friendships and learn more about another’s country. In addition, you will plant seeds in the hearts and minds of people around the world, while fulfilling a student’s dream of coming to the United States and staying with an American family.
God bless -
