A Message from the Head of School:
As we transition from a season of thankfulness, we reach out to receive and take hold of the gift of faithfulness this Christmas season. God, our Father, is faithful to the promises of His word.
"The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin." - (Exodus 34:6-7)
It's important for us to continue to bear fruit according to the grace we have received. What a great time of year to practice a key concept of our mission statement to "lead students toward God".
The second stanza of "O Holy Night" eloquently describes our response to the gift of Christ:
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So, led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our Friend.
He knows our need - to our weakness no stranger.
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
"God is faithful, who has called us into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ or Lord." - (1 Cor. 1:9) Praying each activity this month brings us one step closer to Him.
In His service by grace,
Michael P. Egenreider, MS
A Message from the Principal:
'Tis the season! We are excited to invite our MCS family to Christmas Concerts starting this week (see Upcoming Events)! We have plans for our elementary students to enjoy MCC's "Journey Through Bethlehem", our annual Christmas Gift Shop, and a special Christmas Chapel! Upper School students will cap off midterm week with their annual Christmas Chapel and Class Unity Day.
With all of the added activities at home, church, and school, it can be a stressful time. God encourages us to enjoy each day, and He loves to bless His children. In James 1:17, we read that "every good gift and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." Our challenge is resting in this truth, especially during this busy season!
Our recent guest, Keith McCurdy shared some advice for managing the stresses of the day: eat 3 meals, have sufficient and regular sleep, have a home routine, and limit technology. Simple but powerful! If you'd like more information about Keith McCurdy and "How to Raise Sturdy Kids" visit livesturdy.com. I also ran across 2 blogs written by parents who attended his events: click here and here.
My deepest prayer for you and your family is that the Lord's Presence is tangible every day, and that each day in this holiday season is filled with joy and peace in the knowledge that God is with us, Emmanuel.

Student Life
At School Field Trip: On Nov. 23, Bring the Farm to You visited our school where our K-6th grade students experienced the Children's Homestead and various farm animals. The students learned about life in the 1800s and what children played for games, how they did laundry, how they made cornmeal, and how they learned in school. The students were able to pet and ask questions about many farm animals including goats, sheep, rabbits, a pig, and a turkey! Classes also gathered around the fire pit to warm up, sing songs, and enjoy a campfire snack.
Thanksgiving Celebrations: Many of our elementary classes enjoyed wonderful Thanksgiving celebrations. There were Charlie Brown feasts in Kindergarten, homemade applesauce in 1st grade, and many grades made Thanksgiving story bracelets. We really enjoyed welcoming parents back to help out with the celebrations and the students were eager to share everything they have been learning!
Speech Winner: Congratulations to Junior Jon H. who won the Original Oratory category at the 57th Annual Barton Classic Speech and Debate Tournament on Nov. 13!
Keith McCurdy: On Nov. 16, Keith McCurdy spoke to Upper School students and challenged them to embrace life's challenges and trials to become sturdy and resilient.
Student Council Events: On Nov. 15-19, the Student Council ran a successful Spirit Week. The themes were Fictional Character, Country vs. Country Club, Decade Day, Squad Day, and MCS Spirit Day. To conclude the week, Student Council planned a fun pep rally where grade levels competed in a dunking contest and tug of war contest to attempt to earn the Spirit Stick. Congratulations to the Senior Class of 2022 on being this year's winner!
