4th Annual Boys Basketball Camp

The 4th Annual Boys Basketball Camp took place last week on the Madison Christian School campus with 12 boys in attendance (5th-8th grades). Each year, a quality outside influence is brought in to assist in developing the young men with both on and off court guidance. This year’s guest was Mike Thornton, Sr., a personal trainer who develops young athletes and whose vision aligns with that of our staff.

Helping with instruction were current varsity players as well as alumni Micah Eberle, Cameron Kimbler, Seth Miller, and EJ Thompson. A special thanks to Teresa Woerner, Middle School Boys Basketball Coach, who helped with registration and coordination of food and serving.

All participants received the same wristbands given to the high school players, highlighting the team motto of “Relentless” and the team scripture of 1 Corinthian 15:58. Special time was taken by the staff to discuss each of these and to instruct on how it correlates both on and off the court.

Several attendees were rewarded with personal off-season training sessions with Mr. Thornton to continue in their development.
