Juniors experience sacrificial service through 3-day immersion

On September 7-9, 2022, the junior class experienced a 3-day immersion that exposed them to sacrificial service and living life in full view of eternity.

Here is a recap from Dr. Houston, Director of Spiritual Formation:

On day 1, they went to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum to expose themselves to a meaningful example of sacrificial service. Afterward, they traveled to Greenlawn Cemetery to see the military gravesite and were led through an exercise to consider and write their epitaph.

On day 2, they served at the Center of Hope working on vital projects for the center and prepping for food distribution to the community.

On day 3, the students served at Mid-Ohio Food Collective preparing food and staple items for distribution and served 289 clients through the food bank drive-through.

At the end of each day, students had times of reflection that searched for how the experiences impacted them concerning sacrificial service and living life with eternity in view.

The Center of Hope had wonderful things to say about our students:
"These high school juniors from Madison Christian gave it their all at the Center of Hope today! From the garden, to the choice pantry, to just about everything in between, these 31 students worked tirelessly helping to clean the facility and get everything in tip-top shape for our busy season ahead. You are such a blessing and we love your hearts to serve others too!"

We are proud of how our students served others well and shined their light for Jesus.
