The Madison Christian Speech & Debate Team competed at the OSDA Speech and Debate District Finals at Gahanna Lincoln High School on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
After five months of preparation and competitions, the following Eagles earned recognition as State Qualifiers for the OSDA State Tournament, March 2nd through March 4th:
- Jon H. in Original Oratory
- Caleb L. in Congressional Debate
- Carson L. in Congressional Debate
- Naomi Y. in Humorous Interpretation
- Trey K. in Humorous Interpretation
- Jeremiah N. in Original Oratory
- Christopher H. in Declamation
The following students have earned recognition as finalists in their event and will compete as alternates at the State Tournament:
- Noah S. in Declamation
- Carmendi G. in Original Oratory
- Gracie L. in Informative Speaking
The following students have earned a seat to compete at the State Tournament in the Congressional House:
- Colleen B.
- Jonathan P.
Congratulations to these 12 students for their outstanding effort and achievement this season, and wish them luck as they work over the next few weeks to prepare for States.
Additionally, we would like to congratulate Madison Christian senior Jon H. on earning enough points this season to compete at the National Speech & Debate Qualifiers Tournament on February 17th-18th. Jon finished 4th in the state last season, and we wish him luck as he represents us this season competing for a spot at the National Finals.
