MCS celebrates MLK

On January 12, 2024, MCS Faculty Jean Gilbert and Señora Nelson opened the MLK Celebration with prayer and explained the importance of the day. Several students narrated "The Life of MLK" presentation followed by Senior Joy Freeman introducing her mother, Tammy Freeman, who shared a personal and inspiring message about Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream. (Read her message on our Eagle Blog!)

Students performed the song "We Shall Overcome," followed by students of the Unity, Diversity, and Family Committee sharing quotes from MLK. Students then presented about several of MLK's speeches, gave a summary of initiatives that began as a result of his life, and performed a skit.

Faculty Jordan Divine sang MLK's favorite hymn of “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” and Dr. Tim Houston closed in prayer. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us!
