School Board

The men and women serving on the Madison Christian School Board lead, encourage, and support the school community in their pursuit of developing academic instruction and virtue formation that is succinctly and consistently Christ-centered and classical.

The Board considers Madison Christian School to be under the umbrella of Madison Christian Church and, therefore, submits to the authority of the church elders by aligning with the Madison Christian Church Vision, Mission, and Statement of Faith. The School Board’s oversight of this ministry includes these responsibilities:

  • Determine the MCS Purpose, Mission, Vision, Core Values, Expected Student Outcomes & Educational Philosophy
  • Provide spiritual leadership
  • Set policy
  • Ensure financial oversight and responsibility
  • Select, hire, empower the Head of School
  • Enhance MCS’s public standing in the community
  • Maintain effective board governance who entrusts the administration of the school to the Head of School
  • Exercise due diligence to ensure the school operates according to biblical and legal principles
  • Ensure effective organizational planning

The MCS School Board is comprised of a minimum of 6 members affirmed for a four-year term with many of them being parents with one or more children enrolled at MCS. The Board typically meets monthly on the fourth Monday.
