Welcome Letter to MCS Families

MCS seal

Dear MCS Families,

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!  We are excited to partner with our MCS families this year and pray that we’ll have many opportunities to interact this year!  We know that there will continue to be challenges throughout the year, but know that God will continue to guide and provide for our MCS Community.

In our academic program, we are excited to continue to reach for excellence!  Traditionally, our curriculum is reviewed on a five-year cycle, with a different focus each year as we continually work to grow and improve.  Last year our focus was on math and we added curriculum components designed to teach students to master and retain math skills and content.  This year our focuses are in both English and History, continuing to work toward integration of language arts, history and theology.  Students will benefit from excellent literature and primary historical sources as they both learn to read at our lower grades, and read to learn in upper grades.  By strengthening our program with additional instruction in grammar and the writing process, students will also grow in their communication skills, becoming increasingly confident in their abilities to express thoughts, ideas and beliefs.

All of our academic content is infused with God’s Word, leading our students to know and love those things that are good, true and beautiful.  This is a journey, and we’re excited to walk along with our students and families as we continue to grow together in love for the Lord and for each other.  Knowing that we’ll meet challenges as we navigate the road ahead, we have been led to our annual theme of Perseverance - The Pathway to Wisdom.  In James 1:2-4, we are called to Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.  And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

We pray that our partnership is a mutual blessing this year!  Your student and family are loved, and we are grateful that you’ve chosen MCS!

Blessings,

Kim Miller

Principal
