The elementary program at Madison Christian School strives for excellence in educating the whole child spiritually, mentally, socially and physically. Rooted in a steadfast reliance on Biblical truth, our faculty nurtures each child in a loving environment to help them understand the world around them. A rigorous curriculum prepares children for the academic demands of secondary education. A strong intervention program, after school activities, drama and music productions and enrichment opportunities allow our students to reach their full potential in Christ. Outreach and leadership opportunities and a rigorous curriculum prepare our students to be strong future Christian leaders.
In self-contained classrooms, our primary students have SuperKids reading/language arts, Singapore math, social studies, science, Bible and penmanship with their classroom teacher. Students also have Easy Tech, library, art, music and physical education. After school activities include Newspaper Club and ACSI Spelling Bee and Speech Meet. For enrichment and intervention, students participate in Mighty Minds.
Third and fourth grade students have two classroom teachers who teach math, science, social studies, reading, language arts, Easy Tech and Bible. Specialized teachers instruct students in m music, art, library and physical education. Extracurricular activities include ACSI Spelling Bee and Math Olympics, Newspaper Club, drama productions, and Body Builders. Enrichment and intervention provided by participation in Mighty Minds.
Our fifth and sixth grade students benefit from departmentalization that includes four teachers instructing in their areas of expertise. Science, math, Bible, language arts and social studies are taught daily. In addition, students have physical education, art, choir, band, library and Easy Tech. Extracurricular activities include ACSI Math Olympics and Science Fair, drama and music productions, Student Council, Science Club and safety patrol. Weekly enrichment sessions and pull-outs are part of our Soaring Eagles program.
